What Perplexity and Comet could do with real-time intelligence: 6 use cases.

Perplexity answers with citations and takes custom MCP connectors, and Comet browses for you. Here is what happens when AgentStructure apps add SEC filings, market moves, SAM.gov notices and new roles as sources.

  • Muse.ai

  • Grok
  • Claude
  • ChatGPT
  • Any MCP-capable assistant
An example. The app noticed first, and the assistant brought it to you.

Key takeaways

The short version.

  • Perplexity is an answer engine that cites its sources. Comet is its AI browser, which can research, draft email and carry out tasks on the pages you have open.
  • Perplexity supports custom remote connectors: you enter an MCP server URL in Account settings, and the connector becomes a source you can switch on for a question.
  • Perplexity is built for questions with sources. AgentStructure apps add sources a web search does not watch for you: new SEC filings, SAM.gov notices, prediction-market moves and new roles.
  • Comet can take the next step on the official page itself, such as opening the solicitation or the job posting, while you decide what to submit.
  • Best fits: SEC Stock Signals and PoliticalPredictions.APP for cited research, GovContracts.Money and RoleRank for Comet.

About Perplexity

What are Perplexity and Comet, as agent platforms?

Perplexity answers questions with citations to the pages it read. People use it for research they want to check: markets, policy, companies, products. It can also reach other tools through custom remote connectors. In Account settings you choose + Custom connector, select Remote and enter an MCP server URL over HTTPS, with no authentication, an API key or OAuth. Enterprise admins decide whether members can add their own.

Comet is Perplexity’s browser, which it calls “the AI browser that acts as a personal assistant.” It is available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, and its examples include drafting an email reply from your schedule, comparing how outlets cover a story and buying an office chair.

Why it matters

Why does Perplexity need real-time intelligence?

Perplexity is excellent when you know what to ask. It does not sit on SEC EDGAR, SAM.gov or a company’s job board and tell you the moment something new appears, and a search ranks what is popular, not what changed an hour ago for the five companies you follow.

AgentStructure is the real-time intelligence layer personal AIs plug into. Each app watches one specialized source, filters for you and explains the change with a link to the original. As a Perplexity connector, it becomes one more cited source next to the web, and in Comet, the official link is one click from the next step.

Use cases

6 ways Perplexity could use AgentStructure apps.

1. SEC Stock Signals

A filing, with the context around it, all cited.

SEC Stock Signals watches public filings for the companies on your watchlist and explains what each one could mean, in plain English, with a link to the original.

With it switched on as a connector, one Perplexity question can return the filing, the news coverage and the company’s past statements, each cited, so you can check every claim. It explains; it does not tell you to buy or sell.

2. PoliticalPredictions.APP

Which post moved the market, with the receipts.

PoliticalPredictions.APP watches public political posts around the clock and tells you which prediction markets you follow could move, with timestamps.

Perplexity can set those timestamps beside the reporting, so a researcher sees the post, the minute the market moved and what was published afterward, each linked. It reports; it does not place positions.

3. GovContracts.Money

From the match to the solicitation page in Comet.

GovContracts.Money watches federal opportunities on SAM.gov for the work you do, by NAICS code and keyword, and sends the good ones with the deadline, the official link and any qualifications you are missing.

In Comet, the official SAM.gov link opens in the browser that can read it. Comet can list what the notice asks for and draft an email to your teaming partner. Nothing is submitted unless you submit it.

4. RoleRank

Open the top role and start the application.

RoleRank compares new openings on official company job boards with your résumé as they are posted, and ranks the ones that fit.

Because RoleRank links to the company’s own job board, Comet can open the posting, research the team in another tab and help you fill in the form. You read it over and press submit.

5. Comment2Chat

What buyers ask, checked against what the web says.

Comment2Chat turns comments and DMs on your social posts into conversations, answers, bookings and follow-ups, and tells you who is ready to buy.

Perplexity can take the week’s top buyer questions and check how competitors and reviewers answer them, with sources, so your next post answers them better.

6. Catholic Reminders

Today's saint, and a reliable place to read more.

Catholic Reminders brings the feast, the saint, the readings and a short prayer each morning, and explains the week ahead.

Perplexity can take the day’s saint from Catholic Reminders and point you to sources worth reading, such as the saint’s own writings, with citations rather than an unsourced summary.

How to

How would a Perplexity user connect an AgentStructure app?

  2. 2In Perplexity, open Account settings, Connectors, choose + Custom connector, select Remote and enter the address.
  3. 3Switch the connector on for a question, for example “what did my watchlist file today, and how is it being covered?”

AgentStructure apps reach assistants through their API and MCP. On Enterprise plans, an admin decides whether members can add custom connectors. No Perplexity listing is claimed, and AgentStructure has no partnership with Perplexity. The apps are free during the beta.
